Curious about what's for lunch in our public schools? "Lunch Line" explores the link between what our kids eat and obesity.
With over 30 million students participating in the National School Lunch Program, and a third of US children overweight or obese, school food stands at the intersection of health, education, hunger and agriculture. The new documentary Lunch Line examines the history of the program, from its turbulent and political founding, all the way to present-day accusations of complicity in childhood obesity. A coalition of local groups invested in food and education presents the Charlottesville premier of the film at 7:00pm on Friday, March 25th, at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Performing Arts Center at Charlottesville High School. The screening is free and open to the public.
VMDO Architects is one of the major sponsors for this event.
